Ryan is a qualified PGA professional with several years in the industry, both playing and teaching.

He started playing golf from the age of 12 alongside football, but golf soon became his main passion, going on to represent the Warwickshire boys’ team and then the men’s first team in the process.

Ryan has played and won golf tournaments at both an amateur and professional level, before going on to complete his PGA degree, allow him to teach/coach as that is one of his passions.

“ There is no correct golf swing, you have to be able to teach the person in front of you and adapt to them as not everyone can swing the same”. Ryan believes that everyone can always improve and understand the game better and he enjoys helping all players of all ages improve.

In addition to teaching, Ryan stays up to date with the latest manufacturers’ training which allows him to custom fit here in our swing studio. With his knowledge of the golf swing combined with the understanding of technology within the clubs, he can help compare your clubs’ performance against the new equipment we have available in our fitting kits.

Rhys is a Professional shop assistant (PGA Trainee), who brings a positive attitude and in-depth knowledge the technical & competitive playing side of golf.

He started playing golf at the age of 10 and decided to dedicate his time solely to golf & by the age of 13, made his first appearance in Warwickshire’s U14 County Team. After making many appearances, he became a stalwart of the team & his highlight being two hole-in-ones in the same match (leading him to a memorable 7&6 Win).

From here Rhys would work his way through the age groups and be selected as captain for both the U16 and U18 teams. Before closing out his final year as a junior, Rhys would leave a mark at the Boys County Championships midland qualifier where a first round of -5 (at Robin Hood), gave him a 3-shot lead going into the second round. Following a poor back nine, he would finish +5, Level par for the 36 in T1. That morning round qualified Rhys for the Junior Daily Telegraph final, where he was flown out to Portugal to compete in a Sky Sports televised event at Quinta Do Lago. This gave Rhys a taste of what professional golf could feel like, travelling the world, signing mementos for sponsors and playing in front of large galleries & cameras.

From here Rhys would receive a 100% tuition scholarship to Parkland College in USA, Illinois. Where he would pick up 3 x Top 5s and 1 win in his 11 events over 2 semesters. Rhys would then join us here at Calderfields golf club in August 2021 working alongside his brother, the head professional Ryan Wallace.

Rhys has recently started studying at the University of Birmingham on the AGMS Degree where he is studying business in the sporting industry, as well as completing his PGA degree alongside it. He has already passed his Level 1 PGA exam and is eager to put the same effort into his level 2 and 3 exams over the next two years.

Rhys is now a member of the clutch professional tour where he plays almost all of his competitive golf, so feel free to watch along as his season progress.

 He will always be happy to chat about golf.

Graham is the course marshall at Calderfields. He can often be seen driving the refreshment buggy around, especially at weekends. Graham’s main jobs are to keep play moving forward so everyone enjoys their game, to monitor dress code, ensure everyone’s safety and to keep all golfers hydrated. Whilst you are on the course please look out for Graham as we know he’d love to see you.
