We are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will act in accordance to government advice.
At our golf club, members and guests are being encouraged to carry on playing golf with Calderfields Golf & Country Club with the golf club team striving to provide the game in the safest possible environment.
We also recognise that the health and well being of playing this great game benefits all age groups.
The range and practice facilities will also remain open and members can bring guests with the Pro Shop OPEN to deal with bookings, golfing essentials & purchase transactions.
It is essential where possible that members keep golfing, support the Pro Shop and the club to ensure the survival of our outstanding facilities.
The Pro Shop will retain current shop opening hours.
- Customers are requested to keep a 2m distance whilst in the shop and use the hand sanitiser before any transaction.
- Buggy & trolley hire remains available with equipment sanitised between users.
- Credit card transactions would be preferred rather than cash.
- Coaching services continue and the teaching team will still be available for tuition.
- Our coaching and fitting facilities will remain open for bookings as will the availability for club fitting.
Golfers have access to Calderfields Golf & Country Club booking system online which will be a great asset in allowing golfers to keep golfing.
Members will be requested to list all players where possible when making bookings, golfers not having a playing partner can speak to the Pro Shop staff who will do their best to pair you up.
On the Golf Course
From Friday 20th March 2020 the following will apply on the golf course until further notice.
Course furniture and fixtures
All bunkers will remain GUR and rakes will be taken off site to decrease the risk of handling surfaces. Rubbish bins will be removed and golfers are asked to take their litter home to avoid cross contamination.
Ball washer handles will be taped up with plastic hoods and golfers are encouraged to use a damp towel to clean their golf ball.
As government information is liable to change we are monitoring the situation and will react when required.
Flag sticks and holing out
The plastic cup will be raised proud of the hole by approx. 40mm. Any ball to strike the plastic cup is to be deemed as “sunk” in a bid to avoid multiple contact with a small surface area. Using this method means flags will not require moving or touching, again assisting in less contact on surfaces.
Golfers are encouraged not to share equipment including tee pegs, golf balls and other such equipment and not to share flasks of tea/coffee and snacks whilst on the course.
Keep calm, wash your hands and keep playing Golf…
