Preferred Lies.
This local rule will be introduced from the 18th of October 2022 until further notice.
To allow members to record scores through the winter months the club will be introducing the following rule in accordance with the Rules of Golf.
PREFERRED LIES ON CLOSELY MOWN AREAS
(FAIRWAYS AND GREEN FRINGES ONLY) ARE PERMISSIBLE.
When a player’s ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball in and playing it from the relief area.
Reference Point: Spot of the original ball.
Size of Relief Area Measured from Reference Point: 6 Inches (150 mm) from the reference point but with these limits:
Limits on Location of Relief Area:
- Must not be nearer the hole than the reference point.
- Must be in the general area.
The white tees will also be removed from this date.
