The work continues whatever the weather
With the course being closed for a couple of days our Head greenkeeper and his team are still busy working on improving the course for 2022 and beyond.
On the left-hand side of the seventeenth green, some much-needed tree management was started by thinning out some of the trees to allow more sunlight and better airflow to our wettest green on the course. This procedure will greatly benefit the green in the long term.
On the driest day of the week, with further rain forecast for the weekend and next week, one of the greenkeepers is taking advantage of getting another group of slits onto the greens, this is done to relieve soil compaction, creates channels for lateral water movement through the soil profile and aids root development.
