Public Statement regarding the culling of Foxes…

Official Company Statement

Tuesday 8th June 2021

Culling of Foxes.

To the General Public and concerned parties,

It has come to our attention that several deceased foxes have been sited along a boundary hedge between our venue, Calderfields Golf & Country Club and Walsall Arboretum. As a family run business who are also animal lovers, we have found this news very distressing.

Our venue stretches for well over 170 acres and we enjoy and are proud to share this beautiful land with gluts of different wild animals from Swans, Canadian geese, Ducks, Deer, Foxes and a variety of wild birds. We also enjoy sharing the growth and development of these species through our social media pages.

The wildlife on our property, especially Foxes, do not cause any harm or hindrance to the golf course and therefore it has never been our policy, nor will it ever be in our policy to control their numbers.

We do not employ any lethal methods of animal control and we do not give permission or condone any shooting within the boundaries of our land. Any trespassers or people found to be shooting will be reported to the police.

We are pursuing this matter vigorously with urgent attention and have logged the incident with the West Midlands Police service.

Our efforts will be ongoing to ensure that the wildlife and nature of our property are safeguarded to enjoy the life they deserve.

Yours Sincerely,

General Manager
